Summer Juice Recipes!
Updated: Apr 21, 2020
Happy Tuesday! Today’s post is short, simple and sweet! I’ve created four juices to help get you through the summer! They are all super easy and require a lot of the same ingredients so you don’t have to worry about buying a million different fruits and vegetables. Best part- even if you don’t go through all the fruit and veg, you can save the rest for later and use for meals or if you’re looking to get rid of some produce that’s about to go bad in your fridge, juicing is a great way to utilize your leftovers.
These juices were specifically created to aid in digestion and inflammation- because if you’re like me and constantly live in a state of digestive discomfort and inflammation, sometimes juices can come in handy when food just isn’t working for your stomach. I know that juicing strips away the fiber found in fruits and veg- so if you’re having a hard time digesting your food (as in it goes through too slow if ya know what I mean), juices might not be the answer, but if consumed with the proper amount of water you should be just fine. Drinking juices gives your digestion a break, so if you’re just feeling worn down from your body trying to make up for all its discomfort and heal itself, drinking a juice can be one of the most relaxing and best things for your body.
Juice #1- Pineapple//Celery//Cucumber//Ginger
This juice is so refreshing and gives just the right amount of kick at the end with the ginger! Ginger is amazing for the stomach and settling any unwanted aches and pains and cramps. Pineapple is an anti-inflammatory, due to the enzyme Bromelain and celery and cucumber are great for hydrating the body and reducing IBS symptoms and bloating.
Juice #2- Celery//Cucumber//Romaine//Orange
The second juice I made is the best combination of mean and green but with just a hint of sweetness! I hate grabbing a green juice that just tastes like straight up grass pulled from the ground, but I also hate it when juices will be considered super “green” and loaded with all the goods, but is overpowered by a super sweet fruit, like apple. Sometimes your body just needs a good detox, but it’s hard to swallow just a jar full of leaves and watery veggies. It needs some brightness!
Either way, this juice is super detoxifying and hydrating from the celery and cucumber and great for skin beauty. Romaine is so underrated, as most people don’t realize it has so many health benefits from vitamin C, folate, potassium and magnesium! Orange of course gives us our vitamin C and gives us the zest we need in our day!
Juice #3- Watermelon//Romaine
Bear with me on this one- I know it sounds off-putting, and I was hesitant to try it, but Romaine hardly has any flavor to it so other than maybe making the drink taste more “crisp” it basically tastes like watermelon, so have no fear of the green. It doesn’t turn out to be the best color, and for some that’s a deal breaker, but trust me on this one if you need something super hydrating and light to get you through an afternoon lule. And if you’re like me and wake up at 3:30am, sometimes my body craves hydration and nutrient booster. I obviously gravitate towards the coffee at that time of day, but who said you can’t have both? Watermelon helps with blood circulation, skin health/beauty and is one of the most hydrating fruits!
Juice #4- Pineapple//Watermelon//Ginger
This juice is so fun, and I could drink it all day, everyday. It’s citrusy and refreshing and tastes like summer. You may even be able to turn it into a cocktail. I may be sitting here right now, drinking it that way. Although this juice doesn’t have your greens, it’s still so beneficial for the body. Green juices aren’t for everybody, even if they don’t taste “green.” This gives you anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, hydration, stomach comfort, vitamin C, it detoxifies the body and boosts brain function! Also a super light drink to have when your body needs a pick-me-up or if you’re craving something sweet before bed, it gives you that and it’s a nice way to rest your digestive system.
There you have it! Four amazing summer juices to whip up! I own a Pro Juice 700 (Centrifugal), which is different than a masticating juicer so if you’re on the market for a juicer, I would do some research before making a decision, depending on how often you’ll be juicing and when you’ll be drinking your juice. Makes a difference! I have some knowledge with both, so reach out with any questions. Happy sipping!
