National Hemp Day!

Happy National Hemp Day!



I LOVE hemp seeds! Especially putting them in smoothies, but they’re super easy to put in salads or bake into breads and granola!




Plus with the newest trend using hemp oil and CBD to healing and treatment. It overall just has amazing benefits so why not have it in every aspect of your life??



Hemp seeds are packed with healthy fats, protein and fiber. Not to mention Vitamin E, magnesium and potassium. Hemp is great for digestion and full of omega-9s.



Hemp seeds don’t really taste like much. They have a bit of an earthy taste, but you can’t taste them in smoothies or even in your salad much. They give a soft crunch and add smoothness into your smoothies!



My newest and current favorite way to get hemp seeds into my diet is HEMP MYLK!! So creamy and earthy and sweet. Super easy to make!! Now it doesn’t last too long, but oh so good with a bowl of granola.




Collagen Hemp Mylk



Ingredients:

2 cups of hemp seeds

4 cups of water

2 tbsp almond butter

2 pitted dates

1 tsp of vanilla extract

2 scoops of Vital Proteins Collagen

Dash of cinnamon (optional)


Directions:

Place all ingredients into a blender and blend together for 2-3 minutes! Strain into a large bowl 2-3 times to ensure the mylk is smooth and rid of leftover hemp seeds that remained whole.



This recipe actually made the mylk a bit too sweet for my taste, so I would recommend adding one date. If you like things slightly sweeter, keep the additional date. The mylk only lasted me about a week, so if you won’t be able to consume it quickly, cut the recipe in half! It will still leave you with a generous amount of hemp mylk.
