Morning Matcha Recipe

Updated: Apr 21, 2020

Good morning! Or afternoon? Not really sure what time it is. We’re on our way to Denver! Driving from Michigan, yes. Only a sweet six hours left!

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and spent time with loved ones. I’ll be honest, I drank a little too much alcohol and consumed way too many appetizers. I feel like I’m still full from Christmas- but it was all worth it.

One of my favorite gifts from Christmas was a milk frothier!! You know you’re an adult when you’re excited about a kitchen appliance. Honestly though, since I’m obsessed with coffee having a milk frothier makes it so easy to make lattes or top my coffee with some steamed milk.

That’s why I couldn’t wait to whip up a new matcha recipe! A lot of people hate matcha for its taste, but I love it so much. Most places that sell matcha lattes are full of added sugars, so at the end of the day you’re not getting much of the benefits from the matcha.

Matcha is packed with antioxidants, and it’s also a clean source of energy, containing caffeine but much cleaner than coffee (still love my coffee though). Matcha is also amazing for boosting brain function.

It’s soooo easy to make too. Most times it’s made with hot water, but I love mine with milk (like almond or coconut).

This milk frothier makes it super easy to make lattes (with cold or hot foam!!) It’s extremely easy to clean as well- I’ll link here!!

Morning Matcha Recipe

8-12oz cold almond or coconut milk

1 ½ - 2 tsp matcha powder (can get from local health food store or online)

*check ingredients before purchase!*

1 tsp maple syrup

Place milk and matcha powder into the milk frothier and follow the directions of the appliance. I believe some will differ.

The milk frothier linked below runs until it is ready- you do not need to stop it yourself. Once done, pour into a mug, add in your maple syrup, stir and you’re good to go!
