Missing Starbucks? Here's A Fun + Tasty Iced Coffee Recipe
Updated: Apr 21
If you’re like me and you’re obsessed with Starbucks and having withdrawal because you can’t go get an iced coffee every day like you’re used to- I feel ya! I would always look forward to getting coffee before work or during a break, because not only am I addicted, I’m obsessed with the taste as well. When everyone was hoarding toilet paper, I was out stocking up on iced coffee.
Normally, I’d put collagen in my hot coffee, but it doesn’t really dissolve in iced coffee so I started playing around with different ways to incorporate it into my iced coffee. I went out and bought Starbucks Cold Brew and Chameleon and figured I could blend the iced coffees with the collagen and pour over ice! But why stop there?
I figured I could use a little more sustenance in the morning, with being home now in the mornings I was waiting till like noonish to start my breakfast. It usually takes me a few hours after I wake up to have a meal. Before that I’ll have my coffee and water. Now, I love my coffee plain and simple- black with a dash of almond milk and collagen whether it’s hot or cold. But sometimes it’s fun to mix it up and it;s been a little self care moment in the morning where I get to make something fun and delicious right away. (Trust me my black coffee is still delicious to me but this is just the cherry on top)
So after a bit of experimenting- I came up with a yummy coffee recipe- especially for those who don’t necessarily like the taste of cold brew and like their coffee a little sweet. This recipe gives you sweetness without the added sugar.
Quarantine Iced Coffee Recipe
½ cup almond milk (or any milk of your choosing)
1 tbsp cacao nibs
1 tsp maca
1 scoop collagen (I used Vital Proteins)
1 tbsp hemp seeds
Blend all ingredients together and pour over ice! If you want to make it into a smoothie instead, just add a cup of ice to the blender with the ingredients. Add more coffee if need to intensify flavor.
